Helpful Procedures when Leaving Your Unit at the End of Season
  Security & Access
☐ Lock all doors and windows
☐ Secure hurricane shutters or impact windows
☐ Notify association/management of departure
☐ Provide emergency contact information
☐ Ensure management has access key if required
☐ Stop or forward mail
Plumbing & Water Protection
☐ Turn off main water supply
☐ Run faucets briefly after shutoff
☐ Set water heater to vacation/off
☐ Check for leaks
☐ Add water to drains to maintain traps
☐ Add vegetable oil to disposal (if applicable)
Electrical & Appliances
☐ Unplug small appliances
☐ Turn off non-essential breakers
☐ Empty and clean refrigerator or leave running
☐ Ensure washer/dryer are empty
☐ Turn off lights
HVAC & Climate Control
☐ Set thermostat to 78–82°F
☐ Replace air filter
☐ Close blinds/curtains
☐ Ensure HVAC is functioning
☐ Consider using a Dehumidifier
Exterior & Storm Prep
☐ Secure or remove patio furniture
☐ Clear lanai
Cleaning & Pest Prevention
☐ Remove all food
☐ Take out trash
☐ Clean kitchen and surfaces
☐ Ensure no standing water
☐ Consider pest prevention
Unit Check
☐ Appoint a relative, friend or service to check in on unit
