Severe Storm & Hurricane Readiness
SEVER STORM & HURRINCANE READINESS
The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1st to November 30th with peak activity in the latter months.
Preparations and planning have been made in order to best ready ourselves for an event as follows.
A collective of amazing volunteers have been established and set up in four teams.
Information Central Teams:
- They will be set up in the first floor lobby of each building in order to obtain and share information from each individual on property.
- Owners and guest/tenants will need to check in with them and share their individual plans to evacuate or to stay in place.
- They will obtain or share different information for each situation.
- Stay in Place decals will be provided for those staying to place on the unit exterior unit door for ease of identification.
- They will then have an accounting of those leaving property and those staying in place in the event of emergency services.
Shut Down & Securing Teams:
- They have a special check list and training on critical areas that need to be shut down and secured for each building and the property.
Sand bag & Taping Teams:
- They have been assigned first floor units to secure with flood tape and prepare sandbags as needed.
- They will also tape and sand bag as need for the Common areas, all access doors to the buildings and garages.
Post Event Teams:
- They will assist in check in on units identified as staying in place by the decals on the unit doors.
- They will assist in securing supplies and materials needed
- They will assist in damage identification and documentation
- They will assist in preparing for clean up and staging.
- They will assist with turning on critical functions that were shut down.
Additional Owner Responsibilities:
- Print off and review the enclosed Severe Storm Plans and Check Lists.
- Be sure to share this critical information with your guest and tenants
- Plan and prepare accordingly well in advance to secure your units and vehicles.
- For those with special care needs plan well in advance with family, friends or caregivers to best be located in an area that care can be provided.
